- And what is Docker, and what does it mean to “dockerize” your apps? Yep, you guessed it, you will learn that as well in this course.
- You’ll even learn how to build a machine learning API using TensorFlow for image recognition.
- Another hot topic is DevOps, and you will learn about that and go through the process of deploying a RESTful API on an Amazon EC2 instance.
- In short, this course is designed to take your basic Python skills and take you to the next level in the shortest period of time.

The Learn Programming Academy was created by Tim Buchalka, a software developer with 35 years experience, who is also an instructor on Udemy, with over 582K + students in his courses on Java, Python, Android, C# and the Spring framework.
The Academy’s goal in the next three years, is to teach one million people to learn how to program.
Apart from Tim’s own courses, which are all available here, we are working with the very best teachers, creating courses to teach the essential skills required by developers, at all levels.
One other important philosophy is that our courses are taught by real professionals; software developers with real and substantial experience in the industry, who are also great teachers. All our instructors are experienced, software developers!
Our team is busy creating new courses right now.
Whether you are a beginner, looking to learn how to program for the very first time, or to brush up on your existing skills, or to learn new languages and frameworks, the Academy has you covered.
I am currently a Senior studying a Double Major in Mathematics and Computer Science, which are my main two passions. I have so many passions and interests. They include but are not limited to Competitive programming, Math Proofs, video game programming, and machine learning just to name a few! However, I would have to say that my main passion is teaching. I really enjoy teaching to everyone, and I really enjoy when my students get that “Aha!” moment.
I really enjoyed this course. Putting 4-5 projects was a really good idea on the part of the instructor.
He uses hardly legible handwriting and drawing. His teaching got better as the course progressed in spite of his verbose and somewhat repetitive explanations. I would consider taking another course from Farouk.
Course was great. Coming from a non-programming background, it explained a lot of concepts which are taken for granted in programming world. Thoroughly enjoyed it
Great presentation and explanation. I wish such a course was available in 2015, when I had to struggle to make such things work.
It was great learning experience.
But course material is very old and many part of code required to update.
In course everything is done on linux hosted on virtual box I did code along with windows system. I setup docker engine on my windows system and was running docker image from power shell. Compare to Installation steps of tutorials are very simple now. Just setting up docker engine everything working fine. Course material must be update now.
Good course, but skims over the details and just allows you to get things up and running. Good for those who are short on time but for those who want to learn in-depth
Great course, quite pragmatic, which is useful for programmers with previous knowledge in python but no knowledge in flask and APIs.
Thank you, highly recommended for Beginners.
I wasn’t sure..but this instructor is growing on me. He definitely makes it sound like no big deal..and all along he is drilling in the bits you need to understand. He really is an effective trainer.

The instructor used sketchbook application to write down the lecture material while he was presenting it. It made many thing verify difficult to read. This information should be provided in a more professional, readable style
The use of the protocol chart (resources, URL, Method, Parameters, Status Codes) is a good practice….but again… make it more readable
I never got the Similarity API to work. I had the same problem that was reported by another student 2 months ago. I download the instructor’s resource (source code) files and tried to run the instructor’s solution and also got the same error.
The lesson on moving the software from a local machine to an AWS provided machine was filled with so many errors that the instructor finally resolved, but it made this entire lesson extremely confusing. Now that the instructor knows every step that needs to be completed, he need to re-record this lesson without all of the errors.
